Salvation: God's Free Gift to Man

Have you ever thought, “If I had the chance, I would live my life all over again?” You can! If you are already a Christian, that’s good. But if you have never accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you can do that now! There’s no magical formula, really.

The Lord Jesus came into this world to die for our sins… If you believe that Jesus paid the price for your sins you can accept His gift of eternal life. You see it’s like having a bank account with lots of money in it; if you don’t know that that money is there for you but you never withdraw it, you won’t get a dime! Same with salvation. Yes, it is a free gift. But you have to receive it.

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one… For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:10,23)

You receive Salvation by:

Believing that He is your Savior and wants to save you
Confessing that you need God in your life
Praying to Him and asking God to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (past, present, or future)
Ask Jesus to come into your heart and fill you with His Holy Spirit

The only requirement is that you really mean this from your heart. Please pray in your own words. But basically, you need to come to the place where you realize that you are lost without God, that you’re willing to turn from your sins, ask Him to forgive you, then ask Jesus to come into your life and take over the helm.

Other things you should do:

Read God’s Word, the Bible. (Pray for understanding first). The Bible is our road map. It’s our manual.

Pray, pray, pray. Spend time praying and listening to God. Build a relationship with Him.
You need to be part of a local body. Pray for God to direct you to a Bible believing church.

Sample Sinner’s Prayer:

Dear Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner. I know that I’ve tried to do it my way and I’m now ready to have You live Your life through me. Please forgive me once and for all for all my sins, past, present and future and come into my heart. Give me a new life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit.

Father, I thank you that you sent your son Jesus to die in my place so that I can have eternal life. I thank you for that life now.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
