My wife and I, after many years of being away from the Church and Jesus, found a new home with a new church. It is a really exciting place to spend our time..I have been a smoker for over 43 years and, as many smokers can confess, I had stopped many, many times. that was on my own and failed.. Last October, I was trying to figure out how to give more money to the church, when the thought was put into my head..."You are burning up $150.00 and more with your tobacco. Put down the cigarettes and that money will be for the Glory of God!!" At that immediate time I threw away the last cigarette in the pack and turned it over to the Lord!!!! It has been a wonderful and exciting experience..I thought I would have the same terrible withdrawels so many experience..Not so.. The wonderful and Loving Lord has stood by me every day and made this work. The only time I get a desire to light up is when I forget to place the Honor and Glory at His feet and, intead, begin to feel it was me. Once remembered the desire is immediately taken away...PRAISE THE LORD!!!
Anyone having an addiction and having a fear of releasing it to the Lord
for healing: Please, Please TRUST in HIM..It works.
God Bless and Thanks, Mike
The following is a letter from Pastor Gary Langley
Aloha from Windward Worship Center! Got to relate some things that have been happening lately: Got a book (and tapes) two days ago from Gary Folds, Pastor of Second Baptist Church of Macon, Georgia. It's an account of how a Baptist Pastor ran into God in Toronto and the impact it has had on his church and ministry. I stayed up late reading the "Bull in the China Shop" and Gary's pastoral letter to his members. Great stuff. Interesting enough, I've been working on a side project in the home of a very lovely couple who are struggling with some of this new wave of God's Spirit because of their strong Baptist background that has led them to the conclusion that this can't be real. They will get the book next, as I know it will bless them to know they can be as Baptist as they want to be and still experience God's fullness. My church Board Secretary and her husband were active members of Pearl City First Baptist until about 2 years ago. (They kept falling down and speaking in tongues and, lovely as they are, the folks at PCFB were not very comfortable with that activity and released them to us with their blessings.
God is truly moving here, with the intensity growing weekly. Of particular interest to me was the section of Gary's book on how the Lord has used him in healing. Growing up in the COGOP tradition I have always believed (with my head) in healing while seeing (with my eyes) people coming forward for prayer and going back "feeling some better." When Jesus touched people, they didn't feel some better, they WERE HEALED. Totally. Compeletely.
Usually IMMEDIATELY. I started agonizing with God over this and came to the point of telling God I was NOT going to preach healing if I was only going to lay hands on people and them not get healed. Two weeks ago, during a Sunday AM service, just as Pastor Rick was starting to pray before his sermon, one of the ladies in the congregation made eye contact and motioned frantically for me to come. I walked down the center aisle to her seat, and she whispered "I need prayer NOW for my neck -- I am in AGONY and can hardly move!!!" I broke in at the end of the prayer and called Rick over, explaining what was up. He gathered some folks around her and started to pray. I walked off a few feet and began to agonize with God over the healing stuff again, until I felt the overwhelming prompting to go back to her. Walking behind her, I reached up with two fingers and touched a spot on the right side of her neck, drawn as if by magnetic force. She instantly reached up and grabbed my fingers with her right hand and hung on. I had the feeling it was like the dentist hitting the raw nerve with a probe! I began to pray -- the words are unimportant-- and moved my hand away. She looked up and said "It's gone. The pain is GONE!!" I KNEW something happened.
The following Saturday, in the home of the guy with the Baptist background, he was DEATHLY ill bent double clutching his stomache. I felt impressed to pray for him. He is a Marine Lt. Col. -- very rigid, reserved and not accustomed to charismatic emotional praying and certainly not comfortable being handled. I put one hand on his back, the other on his stomach and prayed a quiet, simple prayer -- very brief. I went back to work, and several minutes later, he wandered into the room bawling like a baby, hands over his face, crying "it's GONE!! The pain just went away!!"
My wife has suffered for weeks with a very painful ear infection. She had been sleeping on a heating pad and taking tylenol for the pain. Sometimes she couldn't hear out of it. Last Sunday we had a guest speaker, a man who was healed of severe back injury at a Benny Hinn Crusade and now travels with Hinn's ministry as a volunteer usher / catcher. He spoke a simple testimony and opened the front for ministry having the Pastors and ministers present pray for those who simply walked across the front "hot zone". My wife helped an elderly member of our congregation up to the front and through the prayer gauntlet. As she passed me, eyes closed, praising God, I felt led to reach out and just barely touch her infected ear, asking God to heal her. Nothing (apparently) happened. Last night in the car, she said, "You know, my ear is o.k. now. It's strange; last Sunday when I was helping Jeanette walk through the line, somebody touched my ear, and the pain just went away! I forgot to tell you until now." When I told her it was I who touched her, she was surprised.
Brother, God answers prayer, and He still heals!!! I am thrilled that He heard my cry and knows that I am sincerely wanting to see God Save, heal, deliver and work miracles in my ministry. I want ALL the gifts of the Spirit to operate in me and through me.
Be of good cheer -- God is moving throughout the land(s) -- the revival that we have prayed for is now here among us and we are about to experience God's presence and glory in ways we've never imagined before!
A lady from our church was travelling on the bus when she noticed a lady
with a little boy who did not look well. After engaging in conversation she ascertained
that this little boy had cancer in both eyes. The left eye was completely gone and the
right eye doctor's were fighting to save it.
After Carol Jones from Bradford UK asked her if she wouldn't mind her praying for him right there and then, the mother agreed. Right there on the bus she prayed for this little boy and as a result the mother (not a christian) thanked Carol heartily and said that she was going to london now to have the little boy re-examined again.
A few weeks later this women, a stranger to Carol until this moment, ran up to her in the streets all excited. "I don't suppose you remember me do you", she said. "But I am the woemn on the bus that you prayed for her little boy and he was completely healed." The doctors re-examined him and to their amazement there was not cancer left. Everything totally healed and gone. Praise the Lord!
